Overview
Description
This course is an introduction to and exploration of the basic programming languages and common website deployment systems as they pertain to graphic design. This course will provide a basic understanding of methods and techniques used to construct, design and maintain a website. Discussion of design theory will address the principles behind successful visual communication.
Current software and programming languages will be taught in relation to contemporary site construction and as they relate to primarily design issues. Website maintenance will cover the preliminary organization and ongoing steps involved with keeping a website current and up-to-date. Adobe software will be utilized with a focus on Adobe Illustrator for design and Dreamweaver for construction.
Concepts regarding UX/UI Design (User Experience and User Interface) will be explored with regard to how they relate to website interfaces and how they can be used to reinforce graphic identity through site design.
