Description
This course focuses on planning and implementing effective instruction for English Language Learners (ELLs) in PreK-12 content-area classrooms. Candidates examine second language acquisition principles, culturally responsive practices, and instructional scaffolding to support academic language and disciplinary literacy. Emphasis is placed on designing linguistically responsive lessons aligned to content standards and using ELL-specific assessment data to inform instruction. The course includes a minimum of 10 hours of structured field-based experience applying strategies that support language and content learning in U.S. schools.
