Description
Prerequisite: CLC 7729 This course is for anyone who may encounter children in their clinical practice. It offers clinical descriptions of childhood disorders commonly seen by mental health professionals including complete discussion of assessment, diagnoses, and treatment options from a Christian worldview. This course will cover the diagnostic consideration issues related to making a diagnosis. These issues include a broad description of childhood disorders, difficult differential diagnoses, prevalence of the disorder, course, and subtypes of the diagnosis. Broad assessment strategies will be covered that are useful in the assessment of more than one disorder. These tests tap broad psychological, behavioral, and social characteristics of the child, which may pertain to multiple disorders.
