This course will focus on advanced nursing practice roles and responsibilities within complex systems of care. Students will evaluate professional nursing standards including nursing knowledge, person-centered care, population health, scholarship, quality and safety, interprofessional partnerships, systems-based practice, informatics, and concepts for advanced nursing practice in the context of professional role development.

NURG 7100 - PATHOPHYSIOLOGY FOR ADVANCED NURSING PRACTICE

This course will focus on the physiological basis of disease, focusing on the cellular, molecular, and underlying mechanisms of disease across the lifespan. Students will analyze the interactions among genetic, environmental, and lifestyle factors in common acute, chronic, and multi-system conditions among diverse populations.

NURG 7110 - PHARMACOLOGY FOR ADVANCED NURSING PRACTICE

This course will focus on pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, and pharmacogenomics and application to person centered care and pharmacological management. Students will integrate social, ethical, and cultural considerations and apply evidence-based pharmacological practices to ensure optimal patient safety and improved health outcomes among diverse populations.

This course will focus on the knowledge and skills necessary to conduct comprehensive, systematic, and culturally competent physical assessments across the lifespan. Students will develop proficiency in technical, communication, and professional skills that foster person-centered care among diverse populations.

NURG 7180 - TRANSITION TO CLINICAL FOR ADVANCED PRACTICE NURSING
Prerequisite: NURG 7120
This course will focus on role transition to clinical for advanced practice nurses. This course requires 150 hours of direct care clinical under the supervision of qualified clinical preceptors and nursing faculty to achieve entry level clinical competency in the nurse practitioner role.

This course will focus on health promotion, disease prevention, and evidence-based management of common primary care problems in children.
